To some, watching an old couple as they hold hands while they
walk is love. I used to think the holding of hands is an expression
of some form of affection.

An elderly couple was going to a coffeeshop that's a 5 minute
walk from their place (but 15 minutes walk at their speed).

The old man asked the old lady to hold his arm as they walk.
But it wasn't because they're still lovey dovey at their age.
She gripped his arm tightly as she walked.

The elderly couple held hands not to show affection, but because
the old lady needed support. I think when Asian elderly hold
hands, it's not because it's a romantic thing to do. Too often, we
think love is all about feelings and romance. But we often forget
the practical.

If the old man hadnt love his old lady, he wouldn't even have
offered his arm for support.

Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you
